As a central gathering place Lumby has many amenities available. The community has an excellent museum operated by the Lumby & District Historical Society that offers a glimpse into the rich history of the area, showcasing Lumby's early days.
Village of Lumby library services are provided through the Okanagan Regional Library. The library is located at 2230 Shields Avenue. The hours of operation of the library may be obtained by contacting www.orl.bc.ca.
A privately run arts organization, the Monashee Arts Council, promotes local artists and programs.
The Monashee Community Co-Op provides quality, affordable food and goods while promoting local environmentally responsible agriculture. The co-op is committed to educating the community about the relationship between food and health. The Monashee Co-op is open 7 days a week and located at 1879 Vernon Street in the Arbor Park mall beside the Dollar Store.
Spring to fall on Saturdays the Lumby Public Market located at the Oval Park (entrance by the outdoor swimming pool) showcases local growers, producers, crafters, foodies, artisans, performers and home businesses from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Lumby Lions is a club composed of community volunteers in service to Lumby and surrounding area for over 65 years.
