What's NewSprinkling RegulationsDue to the high consumption of water coupled with the upcoming summer months, the Village of Lumby water users are reminded that water-sprinkling regulations are as follows: All users are asked to use the minimum amount of water required to keep foliage healthy following these guidelines. The use of water for sprinkling purposes for residential customers using manual sprinklers with even numbered houses is restricted to even numbered days and with odd numbered houses is restricted to odd numbered days between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 pm. Except that no sprinkling can occur on the 31st day of any month. Lumby-Weyerhaeuser Salmon TrailsThe Lumby-Weyerhaeuser Salmon Trails were officially opened on June 10th, with the participation of the Okanagan First Nations, represented by the Okanagan Indian Band. Pamphlets and Trail Passports can be picked up at many businesses with the Downtown, at the Chamber of Commerce/Tourist Information Centre and the Village Office. This project adds to the community’s capacity and recognizes the need for a new direction in the local economy. If you are interested in becoming involved in the Salmon Trail, the Village has appointed the Lumby-Weyerhaeuser Salmon Trail Committee, please contact the Village Office. It is our desire to extend the trail in the future, as it not only protects the riparian area along the creeks, it’s a great asset to the community for our residents and tourists to exercise and enjoy the local flora and fauna. |
